The Prima is Rintals showpiece carriage staircase. It was developed in conjunction with the world famous Giugiaro Architettura design studio in Milan with the aim of creating a staircase that would stand well above its competitors in terms of sophistication and design. The Prima Staircase features thick polished hardwood treads, an extruded aluminium carriage, a stainless steel balustrade and even a built in lighting system (optional). Here are just a few of the many great features of the Prima Carriage Staircase.
The Carriage
The carriage is the main support of the stair and acts like a spine on which the treads sit. The carriage of the Prima staircase is made from a series of extruded aluminium modules. There are no welded joints and the surfaces are anodised in the natural colour. These modules are strikingly different in their design to anything else on the market and are unique to the Prima staircase. An optional lighting system is also available in the form of LED's that are hidden within the carriage sections. The lighting produced is low level and soft and enhances the sophisticated look of this staircase at night. It can be controlled remotely using wi-fi.
The Treads
The treads of the Prima Staircase are made from 40mm thick boards of top quality hardwood. They are factory finished with three coats of varnish and are a beautifully tough walking surface. There are a number of standard colours for you to choose from or if you prefer you can supply a sample of your own and we will match the colour.
The Balustrade
The balustrade of the Prima Staircase is another unique design feature. The handrail can be either hardwood or stainless steel. It sits on some stainless steel newels that have been styled to reflect the look of a sail or curling leaf. The space between newels is protected by horizontal stainless steel tubes and all of the connecting and finishing pieces are also made of stainless steel in order to maintain the high quality standard set by the rest of the staircase.
