The Gamma is a classic wooden carriage staircase made by Rintal. The Gamma Staircase features thick polished hardwood treads, a hardwood carriage and a large choice of interchangeable balustrades. Here are just a few of the many great features of the Gamma Carriage Staircase.
The Carriage
The carriage is the main support of the stair and acts like a spine on which the treads sit. The carriage of the Gamma staircase is made from a series of hardwood blocks which have been individually crafted into smooth contoured shapes. They have beautiful flowing lines and look great from all angles. The front and side profile of the carriage is quite slim in order to create as much free space as possible underneath the stair and to help the flow of light around the stairwell. You can choose to either have the carriage polished to match the treads or painted to match the balustrade. Whether painted or polished the finish is applied in the factory so there is nothing further you need to do once the stair is installed.
The Treads
The treads of the Gamma Staircase are made from 40mm thick boards of top quality hardwood. They are factory finished with two coats of varnish and are a beautifully tough walking surface. There are a number of standard colours for you to choose from or if you prefer you can supply a sample of your own wooden floor and we will match the colour.
The Balustrade
One of the great things about the Gamma Staircase system is that you can pick and choose from many different types of balustrade. There are horizontal steel cables like in these pictures and also horizontal tubes, vertical tubes, acrylic, wood or metal panels and many more besides. Whichever you choose will have a profound effect on the overall style of your staircase and just in case you should ever feel the need to refresh the look of your Gamma staircase the balustrades are completely interchangeable.
